When comparing soccer and basketball, one may automatically point out the evident difference between the two sports — soccer involves work from the lower body, specifically when dribbling the ball through footwork, while basketball mainly focuses on upper body, specifically when shooting, passing, or dribbling the ball. El Estoque has challenged junior Skylar Ploshay, a member of the MVHS varsity girls soccer team, to step out of her comfort zone and try out the sport of basketball via drills and sequences. From sport to sport, the different athletic skills focused on in practice vary tremendously. For a sport like girls soccer, the coach spends ample amounts of his time creating specific drills to address the weaknesses of the team from their gameplay. However, how would another athlete in a completely different sport like wrestling, succeed in those drills. El Estoque put this to the test by having a wrestler take part in soccer drills and getting his reactions after to his performance compared to the girls.
